Vanity is the oldest track from the album and was recorded primarily in Danville. Unfortunately during that session, I had a cold so the vocals turned out pretty nasally so I rerecorded the vocals in one take in the basement of Ives Hall at SSU. This was the same day I recorded Universal Frost and Margery.
lyrics
Vanity she was born on the 12th, the winter winds slowly decay the holidays and wealth
She told me once she never wanted to be a woman but she loved herself like she loved her reigns over the world
Baby its hard to stop loving you I bleed for you and this Vanity she never gave me herself
Banking on the stealth I’ve created in my short sided mind I’ll learn it all some night
Sweeping up the dust in this idle space where children live and god only knows I’ve gone slow
Sweeping up the particles of a broken vase that the children broke
And I only know I’ve lost home
Vanity she was born on the 12th, repetitious grades are a like a stage I’ve failed to build
She told me often that she was a loner like I didn’t already know
That was her way to stay alone
I've lost home..
My Vanity never left me alone..
